When we stop purchasing all of this faux-food and use those same funds to purchase REAL, safe-for-consumption food the super-greedy, corrupt, faux-food industry will get our message.

Hello, Friends! Today's 'widget' is About.me's embeddable webpage.  About.me is a free service that allows a person/you to create a beautiful one-page website that’s all about that person/you.  With this service it's possible to upload a photo, write a brief, personal biography and connect one's favorite websites to show the world the scope of your online presence, which is "the big picture of you" as About.me states.  I appreciate having access to such a wonderful widget because it is a great way to share the About.me webpages of other people, in addition to sharing my own.  It is such a convenient and attractive way to promote others' and their talent-works, that I am looking forward to utilizing it even more than I already have!

The About.me embeddable webpage is a portable replica of one's personal About.me page.  One of the great features about this embeddable webpage 'widget' is that it is customizable with two choices of Site Style and five primary features which  can be mixed in a number of combinations that the site's creator chooses!  The two Site Styles are 'Use About.me Style' or 'Use My Site's Style '.  The five primary features are 'Image', 'Name', 'Headline, 'Biography', and 'Apps'.  Additionally, the widget is designed to work on WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger and may work other sites, as well.

Hello, Friends! Well, 'Merlin' fans here are two more videos, 'Merlin: Arthur & Gwen "Maxwell's Whenever, Wherever, Whatever"' and  'Arthur & Gwen At Last.wmv'  by elonda78436 at YouTube, that are now among my list of 'Merlin' favorites!

The first video and its tune convey how Arthur feels about Guinevere.  The love he feels for her is very much, "Whenever you need me, Guinevere, I'll be there.  Wherever you need me to go, Guinevere, I'll go.  Whatever (good) you need me to do, Guinevere, I will do.".  That is a very deep, abiding love (rather than lust, lust and more lust). That is sooooooooo romantic!!

In 'Ever After' Prince Henry (Dougray Scott) proposes marriage to Danielle (Drew Barrymore), his true love.  If you've already viewed the movie, you already know how delightful the entire scene (and movie) is!  Below, one video gives you the actual scene and the other focuses on the words, the dialogue of the intended rescue and the proposal.  Enjoy!

Hello, Friends! O.K. fellow Merlin fans here's a new video, by elonda78436, I discovered this past week while working in my YouTube account.  It features the tune "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera and reminds us, via the selected scenes, of the mightiness of this Prince Arthur.  He's outstanding, to say the least!  We ladies appreciate our 'princes' being so strong in 'battle' & so gentle with us!  Also, the video demonstrates the theme of the lyrics, which is, this Guinevere  truly loves no other.  Neither the gorgeous & kind Lancelot, nor the gorgeous & kind Gwaine (portrayed by Eoin Macken) are her true love.  No, Arthur Pendragon is the only one she truly loves. Ahhh,  faithfulness is so wonderful!  And mutual faithfulness is the best!

Late last week I learned of a new, 3D animated movie, 'The Lion of Judah', which was released to theaters on June 3rd, this past weekend. Based on the trailer I think its a great movie to view with your entire family.

Hello, Everyone! Today's widget is a really nice Rotating Photo Cube from PhotoCube3D. I've seen the photo cubes around the Internet and people are using them for various purposes. One really neat use of this widget is to display book covers. You can use an image of your PDF/e-Book and use the cube on your site as a cool way to feature and draw attention to your book(s). 

With this photo cube you can use one to six images (.gif, .jpg, or .png formats). For example, if you want to use only one image you would enter that image in each of the six image upload boxes. Also, if you want to use only two images, you would upload both images three times each, in the image upload boxes.  Again, you may use one to six images whether it's the same image six times, six different images once, or any configeration that totals six images.

Other customizeable features are of this Photo Cube widget are 'Glow', 'Alpha', 'X AutoRotate' and 'Y AutoRotate'.

• Glow alters the amount of brightness. Also, you can choose a color for the 'glow'.
• Alpha alters the amount of transparency (the images will be solid or transparent).
• X AutoRotate rotates this photo cube vertically (around an invisible x-axis/horizontal axis).  Also, you may enter a number above zero (0) to increase the rotation speed. If you do not want the cube to rotate in this direction, un-check/de-select the X AutoRotate box.
• Y AutoRotate rotates this photo cube horizontally (rotates around an invisible y-axis/vertical axis).  Also, you may enter a number above zero (0) to increase the rotation speed. If you do not want the cube to rotate in this direction, un-check/de-select the Y AutoRotate box.

Lastly, you may move your mouse pointer over the cube to alter its movement.  I hope you enjoy using this widget!  I think it is a simply delightful bit of technology!

'Widget' Defined.

Hello, Everyone! Many people ask, "What is a widget?" Well, in the field of computing a widget is a stand-alone application/app that can be embedded into third party sites by any user, on a page where they have rights of authorship such as a webpage, blog, or profile on a social media site. In other words, a web widget is a small software application that can be installed by an end user.  After it is installed/embedded it executes/performs within the web page. Other terms used to describe web widgets include: portlet, gadget, badge, module, webjit, capsule, snippet, mini and flake. Widgets are typically created in DHTML, JavaScript, or Adobe Flash.

Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools such as news feeds, tv episode players, music players, video players, clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, data calculators, flight arrival information, daily weather and so on. Widgets come in many colors, shapes, sizes, and two major types.  The two major types of widgets are Web widgets and Desktop widgets. Web widgets are intended for use on (embedding in) webpages and have major implications in areas such as site performance, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and backlink campaigns. Desktop widgets are embedded on computers, and do not impact SEO, nor webpage performance. For example, Widgetbox generates Web widgets that can be used on almost any website. However, Apple Desktop widgets can only be added to the desktop of your own (Apple) computer.

SlideShare Playlist Hello, Everyone! Today's widget is the SlideShare Playlist. With this widget you can embed a custom playlist of presentations and documents on your blogs or websites. You can choose a feed from your tags, groups or events, or from your uploaded or favorited SlideShare content. You can give it a custom title, as well. Simply customize it and copy the resulting code. To create a personalized playlist of your own content, you'll need a SlideShare account. You can customize the feed for a SlideShare Playlist widget via the following choices in the 'Select feed to appear in your playlist' section:

• My Uploads
• My Groups/Events
• My Tags
• Any Tags (specify) > Choose Layout
• Choose from > Customize Playlist title (as mentioned above)

Once you're done, you can click on 'Preview changes' to see an actual functioning example of the widget you've just customized. For the widget below, I selected 'Any Tags (specifiy)' and typed in butter.  The resulting widget features shea butter content.  This is just one example of the vast tag content available on SlideShare.  When I typed in butterflies the resulting widget featured a large number of slides featuring butterflies in one manner or another.  The amount of content the resulting widget features depends on the choices you make in the 'Select feed to appear in your playlist' section.
