Trail of Tears Trailer - @trailtearsmovie

500 Nations'Trail of Tears' by Soaring Eagle Entertainment

Hello, Everyone! This post features, Trail of Tears, an upcoming movie about the removal of many Native American people from their homelands in what we now call, the United States of America (USA). I learned of this movie from my fellow @DelynMiche Tweeter, @trailtearsmovie.

In 1830, Congress passed the 'Indian Removal Act' and its purpose, intent and actions are obvious by its name. The Native Americans attempted to battle this Act in the colonial Supreme Court. However, the Act prevailed. The Trail of Tears was the relocation and movement of Native Americans, including many members of the Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, and Choctaw nations, among others in the United States, from their homelands to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma) in the western United States. The phrase, 'The Trail of Tears' originated from a description of the removal of the Choctaw Nation in 1831. Many Native Americans suffered from exposure, disease and starvation while en route to the new destinations chosen for them; many died, including 4,000 of the 15,000 relocated Cherokee.

This process of cultural transformation (proposed by George Washington and Henry Knox) gained momentum, especially toward the Cherokee and Choctaw. Andrew Jackson was the first U.S. President to implement removal of the Native Americans with the passage of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. In 1831, the Choctaw were the first to be removed and they became the model for all other removals. After the Choctaw, the Seminole were removed in 1832, the Creek in 1834, then the Chickasaw in 1837 and finally, the Cherokee in 1838.

After these mass removals, some Native Americans did manage to remain in their ancient homelands - the Choctaw are found in Mississippi, the Seminole in Florida, the Creek in Alabama and the Cherokee in North Carolina. A limited number of Europeans and Africans (usually as slaves) accompanied the Native American nations on the trek westward. By 1837, 46,000 Native Americans from these southeastern Native American Indian nations had been removed from their homelands, thereby opening 25 million acres for settlement by whites.

Just like 'The Holocaust' and 'Slavery in the USA' (and everywhere else), the 'Indian Removal Act' should never have been allowed to prevail! What a shame that, often, humans are another human's worst threat to a good, blessed life.

This trailer/video features the forthcoming movie, Trail of Tears, by Soaring Eagle Entertainment. One of my favorite lines from this video is, "They say that Christopher Columbus discovered America. But, we we already here." Another favorite, so telling of another true reason for the 'Indian Removal Act', "When gold was discovered on our lands... They removed our people."

Thank-you, @trailtearsmovie for sharing your movie trailer/video with us!

Something Divine for This Horizon

THE BLOWOUT PARTS 1-3

John Kepsimelis, U.S. Coast Guard Image: Clouds of smoke billow up from controlled burns taking place in the Gulf of Mexico on May 19, 2010. The controlled burns were set to reduce the amount of oil in the water following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

These three videos share the story, as told to 60 MINUTES, of how the BP oil-drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico, 'Deepwater Horizon', was destroyed on April 20, 2010, causing the worst oil spill in U.S. history, to date.

This is what bad decisions fueled by greed has caused; major human-error! What's worse than the lack of correct actions to prevent this fatal blowout is the insufficient actions (prior to June 5, 2010) that have been going on to stop the leak of oil. Based on what we're hearing from the people that worked at this drilling rig, a lack of good, sound wisdom was prevalent regarding the malfunctions that led to this blowout. Now, we don't have the luxury of time for good, sound wisdom to kick-in to the minds of the people trying to stop this leak. We need the immediate intervention of our maker/our Creator. He made Heaven, Earth (including the ocean and sea) and everything and everyone. We need to ask Him (if haven't already done so) to immediately enlighten everyone involved in:

  • trying to stop the leak,
  • cleaning up the spilled oil in the water and the soil/beaches,
  • saving the creatures (birds, fish & others), and
  • protecting humans from the residue (in water, in food, in air/atmosphere)

so that they/we get our efforts right, and therefore, tremendously effective each time. They/we need Divine intervention and Divine wisdom to handle this major, human-error. The Creator still loves us/humans, even when such human-error has taken place. Furthermore, He's willing to impart the Divine wisdom they/we need for this situation, as well. I hope that you all will join me in asking our Creator for His help. I imagine He's got a 'fix' for everything humans mess-up! Take care.

'Something God Just Told Logan' - @Chillami

Logan, the Sky Angel Cowboy

This audio-video was first shared in November 2009 on YouTube. I learned of this video from a fellow @DelynMiche Tweeter, @Chillami (Rick Mathes) in a post entitled 'A Very Wise Child ... ' at his Home & Holidays site, today. It has been listened to and viewed 9,569,411 times, to date. Nevertheless, the message Logan shares is still precious and relevant, now. I believe Logan's message will always be relevant.

Before you start it, get the Kleenex tissue ready just in case you cry a few tears, too, as you watch and listen. I wasn't ready; I had to go and get a Kleenex because this lovely message made me cry a little. I think it will touch your heart, too!

Thank-you, @Chillami for sharing this video with us and for being a fellow Tweeter!

Forever After with Shrek

Shrek 3D: Forever After

After all of his adventures, Shrek (Mike Myers) has become a domesticated, family-ogre. Instead of scaring villagers away as he used to, Shrek now autographs pitchforks. His longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre", facilitates him being tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal-maker, Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn). Shrek couldn't resist the offer; all he wanted was a day off to relax and be a real ogre again. Since Rumpelstiltskin said he would give Shrek one day where none of his adventures had ever happened, everything would be like it was before and all Shrek had to trade him to get a day off was one day from his own life, Shrek accepted the offer. However, after signing the contract, Shrek discovers he has been tricked because the one day Rumpelstiltskin took out of Shrek's life was the day that Shrek was born - meaning that he (Shrek) never existed, which consequently, created a time paradox.

Now, Shrek finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where Rumpelstiltskin has now ascended to king, ogres are hunted to near-extinction, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) is an intellectual who has never met Shrek, is forced into cart-pulling duty and fears him, Gingy (Conrad Vernon) is a gladiator fighting animal crackers, Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) is fat and lazy and Fiona (Cameron Diaz) is a hunted ogre who is the leader of a band of other hunted ogres and has never met Shrek. Furthermore, Artie (Justin Timberlake) has been forced to step down as ruler of Far Far Away.

The contract he signed with Rumplestiltskin will be rendered null and void and the true timeline will be restored if Shrek shares "True Love's Kiss" with Fiona by the sunrise of the next day. However, if Shrek does not make it, he'll disappear because he was never born. Check out the interactive Shrek 3D: Forever After website. The movie is planned to be released in cinemas May 21, 2010 in the US and the July 2, 2010 in the UK. Enjoy the movie trailers, below!
